About whatsmypulse
A small, independent site with one aim: let anyone check their pulse and understand the number, without installing anything or handing over data.
What you’ll find here
- A camera pulse reader that runs entirely in your browser and refuses to guess when the signal is poor.
- A tap counter and timed counting method for any device.
- Calculators for training zones, target heart rate and maximum heart rate, and a resting heart rate reference built on U.S. survey data.
How the site is made
Pages are plain HTML with a little JavaScript. Measurements happen on your device; the server only delivers files and answers the optional calculator API. There is no login, no advertising and no paid version. Visitor statistics come from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies.
Content is written from primary sources and every figure is linked; the sources page lists them all and explains how the camera reader is tested. The site gives general wellness information and is not a substitute for a clinician.
